The Version of Motherhood You Pictured Isn't the One You're Living

You're a new mom, or trying to become one, or somewhere in the middle of it all. You expected challenges, but you didn't expect this.

Another month, another negative test
A pregnancy carrying more fear than excitement
A loss the world moved past too quickly
A traumatic birth or NICU experience you can't set down
Intrusive thoughts you're scared to say out loud
Loving your baby but hating parts of this phase of life

Your partner keeps missing the mark, and resentment is brewing. Your friends mean well, but they’re having very different experiences from you. And no one seems to understand what you're going through.

None of this means you can't handle motherhood.

And none of it makes you a bad mom.

You're carrying something real, and you don't have to carry it alone.

Therapy for Motherhood, and a Way Back to Yourself

Nothing can erase what you’ve been through, but therapy can give you a way through it.

You’ll find the language to express what you're feeling, so you can advocate for your needs instead of drowning in it all alone. The loss, the birth, the fear you haven't said out loud to anyone; we work through it until it stops running the show. And slowly, the question shifts. You stop going to bed wondering if something is wrong with you, and start finding your footing as the mother you're becoming.

From One Mom to Another

Hi, I’m Stephanie. As a licensed therapist (LCSW, #99567) in California and a mom of two, I understand what you're going through. I've lived my own version of it.

I specialize in maternal mental health, and I'm trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which means I can help you work through trauma and grief without spending years talking in circles.

I also draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy, matching the approach to what you need.

I'm not going to ask you how you feel and then nod for 50 minutes. I'll show up with curiosity, real clinical tools, and the kind of honest feedback that helps you actually move forward. The work is tailored, collaborative, and sometimes surprisingly fun.

Areas of Support

If it happens somewhere being trying and mothering, I work with it.

Common Struggles I Help Moms Work Through

Sometimes it helps to name it. If you're here, you might recognize some of this:

Mom rage: the anger that comes out of nowhere and you can't put a lid on it
Anxiety that won't switch off, even when everything's technically fine
Depression that makes the days feel gray and heavy
Feeling constantly overstimulated, touched-out, and overwhelmed
Overthinking every decision until you're exhausted by it
Burnout so deep that rest doesn't seem to fix it
The unexpected parts of your past finding their way into the present since becoming a mom

Your partner keeps missing the mark, and resentment is brewing. Your friends mean well, but they’re having very different experiences from you. And no one seems to understand what you're going through.

All of this is more common than most moms realize, and all of it is treatable.
You don't have to stay stuck here.

Based in the Tri-Valley, Serving Moms Across California

I'm based in the Tri-Valley and work with moms in Pleasanton, Dublin, and Livermore, as well as the surrounding East Bay communities.

Because I offer therapy online, I can also see clients anywhere in California, from San Jose to San Francisco to Sacramento, all the way to LA. No sitting in traffic necessary. That means you can work with a therapist who specializes in maternal mental health, even if there isn't one nearby.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I talk to a therapist about?

Anything that's weighing on you. Some moms come in with something specific, like a traumatic birth, a loss, or anxiety they can't shake. Others just know that something feels off and want a place to sort it out. You don't need to have it figured out or explained perfectly before you start. That's what the first sessions are for.

Do you take insurance?

Ask me about insurance on your free consultation and I will tell you what applies to your plan.

What areas do you serve?

Sessions are online, so you can meet from home. I work with clients across the Bay Area.

How much does therapy cost?

I share the session fee before you book, during your free consultation, so there are no surprises.

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes. Sessions are online, so you can meet from home.

Is online therapy effective?

Yes. Meeting online can feel just as focused as an office visit, and it is easier to keep when you are pregnant or home with a baby.

Can I have my baby with me during therapy?

Yes. You do not need childcare. If your baby needs you during the session, that is welcome.
