Livermore, CA and Bay Area Moms will find specialized, compassionate care designed specifically for the maternal mental health journey.

I'm Stephanie Crouch, LCSW, and I specialize in working with new and expecting moms who thought they had it all together until parenthood changed everything—women who are juggling more than they ever imagined and struggling to find their rhythm again.

Through online therapy accessible from anywhere in California, I help moms navigate pregnancy, postpartum, trauma, and the identity shifts that come with creating a family.

About My Livermore, CA Therapy Practice

My Livermore-based practice offers 100% telehealth services throughout California, making specialized maternal mental health support easily accessible whether you're in the heart of Livermore, across the Tri-Valley, or anywhere in the Bay Area.

As an advanced-trained perinatal mental health therapist and trained Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) provider, I bring specialized expertise in evidence-based approaches that create real, lasting change.

I've walked this path myself—navigating postpartum depression and the challenges of early motherhood—and I'm in the trenches with my clients every day.

My practice focuses on personalized care that addresses both what you're feeling right now and the deeper patterns keeping you stuck. This isn't just talk therapy. It's specialized support for the unique mental health challenges that come with building a family.

Thereputic Modalities

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) - This is the cutting-edge therapy modality that's making waves and changing lives fast. As a trained ART provider, I use this innovative approach to resolve trauma, distressing memories, and intrusive thoughts—often in just 1-5 sessions. If you've experienced birth trauma, have haunting images from a NICU stay, or can't stop replaying painful moments from pregnancy loss, ART can help your brain reprocess these experiences without requiring you to relive every detail. This is the therapy most people have never heard of but wish they'd found sooner.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - Helps you reconnect with your values and figure out how to honor them within your new reality as a parent. Perfect for navigating identity shifts and living meaningfully even when everything feels overwhelming.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - We'll work on managing anxious thought spirals, challenging the "should" thoughts that keep you stuck in guilt and perfectionism, and opening up possibilities instead of impossible standards.

Mindfulness Practices - Helps you stay present with what's actually happening instead of getting lost in what you think motherhood is supposed to look like.

Trauma-Informed Approaches - For processing the traumatic experiences that have happened at any time in your life that continue to be overwhelming events that your nervous system is still holding onto.

Who I Help in Livermore

  • I work with women who are pregnant and struggling with more than just physical symptoms. You might be dealing with anxiety about the baby's health, depression during pregnancy, fear of childbirth, or the overwhelming changes happening to your body and life. Mental health during pregnancy matters just as much as postpartum—you don't have to wait until after the baby arrives to get support.

Therapy During Pregnancy - Pregnancy brings more than morning sickness—the anxiety, depression, and overwhelm deserve attention too. Your mental health matters now, not just after delivery.

  • You're the woman who had it together before becoming a parent. Confident, capable, organized. But now you're juggling the endless mental load, losing yourself in motherhood, and struggling to find your rhythm. Maybe the baby arrived but the joy didn't follow, or it showed up tangled with dread and panic.

Postpartum Depression & Anxiety - When the baby arrives but the joy doesn't follow, or it shows up tangled with dread and panic. I help you find solid ground again.

Maternal Mental Health - The mental load, the identity shifts, the grief for who you were while building who you're becoming. This is about life transitions and finding yourself again.

  • Your birth story isn't what you planned, and the healing is taking longer than expected. Maybe it was an emergency C-section, a NICU stay, medical complications, or procedures that felt traumatic. The images replay. Medical appointments trigger you. You're exhausted from holding it all together.

Traumatic Birth & NICU Stay - When your birth story isn't what you planned and the healing takes longer than expected. You survived the worst day—now let's help you heal from it.

  • Women Facing Fertility Struggles, Pregnancy Loss, or Miscarriage

You're navigating the grief and anxiety of trying to build your family when it's not happening the way you imagined. Or you've experienced the devastation of losing a pregnancy, and no one knows how to sit with you in that pain. This loss is real, and it deserves space.

Fertility Struggles & Family Planning - The grief, loss, and anxiety that come with trying to build your family when it's not happening the way you imagined.

Miscarriage & Pregnancy Loss - Your baby mattered. Your grief matters too. Space to honor what you lost and process the trauma without rushing you through it.

  • Maybe you've lost someone important—a parent, grandparent, friend, or beloved pet—and people disappeared after the funeral. Or perhaps you've had to distance yourself from toxic family members to protect your peace and your children. These losses deserve to be witnessed.

Grief & Loss - When loss changes everything and no one knows how to sit with you in it. Your grief deserves to be witnessed.

Family Estrangement - When protecting your family means distancing from the family you came from. Breaking generational patterns while navigating the guilt and grief.

  • If you're a woman with ADHD, pregnancy and parenting can amplify the challenges you already face. The executive function demands, sensory overwhelm, and emotional regulation struggles get harder when you're responsible for keeping a tiny human alive.

My Approach to Therapy

My therapeutic approach is warm, direct, and deeply validating. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. What works for one mom might not work for another, and that's okay.

I offer two types of sessions:

Traditional Talk Therapy (50 minutes) - Weekly or bi-weekly sessions where we work through what you're experiencing, build coping skills, and process the emotions and transitions you're navigating.

Intensive ART Sessions (up to 2 hours) - For processing trauma, distressing images, or memories that feel stuck. These longer sessions allow for deep work and often create breakthrough progress in ways traditional therapy can't.

Many clients benefit from a combination approach—regular talk therapy sessions with intensive ART sessions incorporated when needed. We'll figure out what works best for you.

What To Expect

Collaborative Intake & Tailored On-Going Care

Starting therapy begins with understanding your whole story—what brought you here and what you're needing to change. We'll create goals and a treatment plan that actually fits your life, not some textbook approach that doesn't work in real life.

I'm not the therapist who sits back nodding, asking "how does that make you feel?" every five minutes. I'm engaged, active, direct (and sometimes funny). We'll track progress, adjust in real time, and figure out what rhythm works for you—weekly, bi-weekly, or a mix of talk therapy and intensive ART sessions. This isn't outdated therapy where you talk in circles for months. We make real change happen.
